One aim of Glasschord Magazine is to create a community of contemporary artists and writers and broaden exposure of their work. All submitted work is subject to the approval of our editorial staff to ensure that we provide viewers with the most coherent collection possible.
We compile works for each issue based on a monthly theme. Below is the list of themes for 2012.

04 – ANTIQUITY
1) ancient or former times 2) expired thinking, lapsed ideas 3) where the old folks made their bones
05 – PIRACY
1) seizure of goods, often by violent or unethical means 2) unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted artistic material, patented inventions, trademarked products, etc. 3) theft on the high seas
06 – DYNAMICS
1) funcionality, motion, and equilibrium of a system under action 2) motivation or driving forces 3) change, as in a social system or the volume of a musical sound
07 – NURTURE
1) nourishment or protection 2) guided development of an organism or idea 3) careful sculpting of nature
08 – FUNK
1) a style of music perfected by James Brown 2) a dejected or fearful mood 3) a musty, overwhelming odor of organic origin 4) that sweet that nasty that gushy stuff
09 – REVOLUTION
1) overthrow of an established order or government by the people within it 2) the completion of a circular course around a fixed central point, as of a turntable or the moon
10 – MACABRE
: 1) grim, gruesome, deathly, horrifying 2) the allegorical dance of death
11 – VERSUS
1) against; in conflict with 2) as one of two choices or combatants
12 – COMMERCE
1) the exchange of goods, commodities or currency 2) social, intellectual, or spiritual exchange 3) sexual intercourse 4) a town in SW California, population 10,509
We invite you to submit a sample of your work for a selected theme. This can be, but is not limited to, a Word document or link to your work that you would like to include in one of Glasschord’s upcoming issues. We also urge you to write a short statement about the work to accompany your sample explaining why it is suitable for the given theme.

Please label all prose/poetry submissions with the subject line as follows: 2 digit issue#/Your Name (eg: 03/Whitman). All work submitted without the proper subject line will not be reviewed.
