Quantum began as a work for electric viola and electric guitar, for my duo “Bowing” (with Randolph A. Hudson, III). Based on that, I created Quantum for Quartet to play with my avant string quartet, Scorchio. The latest incarnation adds bass, which adds a third dimensional element to the 7/8 groove section.
